In reality, life is so busy/chaotic at times, I hardly can muster up the clarity to type out some posts at all.
This post is 100% entirely written for the love of my life, Greg.
It has been 6 years since I married Greg, but 10 years since I met him. He showed up at my college dorm doorstep in 2002 and I knew instantly we would be married someday.
If I were to describe Greg in one word, it would be funny. He always, always can make me laugh, no matter how mad I am at him.
His love for tractors, Red Vines, Milk and trains is astounding. He is a wonderful husband, amazing father, and truly one of a kind.
When I first met Greg, he was a farmhand, working an insane amount of hours daily. Before we got married, he joined the UPRR, where with his hard-working personality, he continues to work hard for the money.
Last year, we were given the blessing of a management position in the UP. A true test of dedication, talent and fate – one at which I knew Greg would succeed.
In my eyes, he is the best employee out there. He works hard, so incredibly hard every single day. Every morning, he has a call at 6:15 am and 4:00pm. Count that up, that’s 10 hours of work for him minimum every single day. When his work day finally ends, he fights his exhausted body to work for his family next. Walks around the block, playing outside, dress-up, trains, baths until finally at 7:00pm when it is movie time he cannot help but collapse in the chair for he is truly exhausted.
For Greg, the fun doesn’t stop there. His phone can ring 24/7 for 11 days straight. On the 12,13,14th days it is not supposed to, though it usually does. I’ll hear him at 2:00am, talking downstairs so not to wake any of his precious, sleeping daughters. He answers his phones knowing that he does this all for them.
No matter how hard or tired he gets, he always has a smile for me before we go to bed. He truly is, my hero.
I know as a mom I endure a lot, but it is nothing compared to the heartache Greg goes through. He works an INSANE amount of hours; in fact he has already worked more hours today than some people will work in two. And all for what shall we ask? For a dream of success in this darkened world of economical crisis. For a dream to give his wife and his children EVERYTHING. He is selfless. He is caring. He is beautiful. He is, my hero. I love you Greg.
