This post is for you, Ken Patten; a manly post instead of my usual girly style.
A few weeks ago Greg’s On-Call rotation switched from every-other-weekend to every-third-weekend. It is good, but at the same time sucks because he is not off on Friday’s anymore. Like most families, now, Saturday is our only real fun-day.
On Saturday, that is just what we did – we had fun!
Our first stop, Bass Pro Shop in Peoria (40min away). It was a lot like Cabela’s but had a cool aquarium that was really the highlight. We tried shopping for a gun but embarrassingly found out that you need a gun-certificate to even touch one in this ridiculous state. Lame.
Instead we did a little shopping and dreaming
I can see it now – Morgan will let Shelby drive, illegally…
After lunch at Chick-fil-A, which was super busy, pricey and not as fulfilling as Panda Express, we went to the Caterpillar Headquarters of the WORLD and Visitor Center. It was awesome – best $14 we spent and the kids got in free!
Greg didn’t get to be in the picture because he wouldn’t let me ask a stranger to take it.
We got to sit in all of these!
It always comes back to the railroad, even on our day off.
Greg told me what this is but I have no clue.
More railroads! You’re killing me with this!
See Greg, we don’t need a little boy, Morgan likes them just the same!
The simulator. Was pretty neat, except for the parents who allowed their rude kids to skip us in line.
What a fun day…..and to finish, look at this Picture of Morgan when she was a baby. Every time I see the picture above I see this one in my head!

Know why your state has ridiculous gun laws? Obama.
Also, good post. When I read Caterpillar museum I thought 'I wonder if the butterfly museum is right next door.' I sure was surprised by pictures of diggers and dumps. Looks like a fun time.
You guys always do the cool stuff. Looks fun. Also, Happy Birthday Greg!
