17 on the 17th

Today, Shelby turned 17 months old. And while I generally try to save the monthly posts for the 15, 18, 21 and 24 month milestones after she turns one, it just seemed suiting this time.

Sweet Shelby is our monkey-child nowadays that is for sure. She has no fear, except for when it comes to animals and tall men (especially those with hats on). She will climb, wiggle and figure out how she can accomplish her latest feat no matter what the circumstances.

Of course, one of her biggest contributors to this lifestyle is Morgan. Here is their latest moment of mischief, which I could not believe took place.

Really, Shelby’s “teacher” is going to cause me more headaches as I put them in the same room, I know it.

Shelby has really taking a beating from Morgan over the past couple of months. Here is what Morgan likes to “do” with Shelby:

  • Lead her by her hand, which consists of her pulling Shelby around the house making the poor little thing run.
  • Stroller time, which Morgan pushes Shelby in the baby stroller up and down the kitchen floor…sometimes letting go!
  • Pinching fingers, poor thing has almost lost her fingers four times now. Twice to Morgan’s closet and twice to her door.
  • Jumping, where they jump on anything they can and Shelby almost always falls off.
  • Pushing, when Morgan runs up and pushes Shelby down for no reason.

It is a mad house at my house. Thus the reason Morgan was in timeout 10 times yesterday. It was a b.a.d. day that is for sure.

Shelby is surviving…though she has developed her own sense of adventure without Morgan’s influence.

Yes, that’s the sit and spin.
Yes, Greg is smiling….

Shelby Jane, we love you so much. You are such a joy in our life. I love that you are starting to talk a lot more….on that note, here are her favorites.

  • Animal noises: cow, monkey, snake, bird, puppy, sheep, owl, horse.
  • Words: all done, please, cheese, “uh-huh”, no, sad, bye, hello, nun-night, mommy, daddy, mamam (for morgan), grandma and Yess.

Thanks for being our sweet little adventure girl Shelby. Love you!
