This past week was a busy one for our little peanut, Shelby. First of all, she was 100% scarred from being away from Greg and I for a full week while we moved/unpacked the house. By the time we got to Wisconsin, she would cry if we even left the room…and when we got home it was only about 50% better. She still asks to snuggle with me, which is something she NEVER did since birth. I’m not complaining as I have been waiting 21 months for this to happen!
When we got to Bloomington, Greg and I made the decision to put her into a toddler bed.
It was hysterical the first night as she popped out of bed 7 times before she went to sleep. The next night she woke up three times. The third night she fell out of bed. And now, she is sleeping peacefully for nap/bedtimes. Life is back to normal.
Shelby is certainly our little ray of sunshine these days. When she is not getting bullied by Morgan, she enjoys playing with her 24/7. It is sweet when I will see them cuddling on the couch in the morning, watching Mickey Mouse and giggling. I am SO grateful for how close they are in age (21mo) and would not trade it. I cannot wait for the third baby to get to this age so hopefully they will all love each other the same.
Shelby’s personality is still a little candid at times. She is definitely our little giggle monster and is almost always smiling. Unless she is looking at you with her evil grin that she has developed over the past few weeks.
Her eating is good, and her talking is right on track for a 21 month old. She is really getting exposed to more and more things than Morgan ever was at this age simply due to the fact that Morgan is a super-tall, 3.25 year old who is constantly challenging herself.
Shelby is a big girl, much like her sister. She weighs about 27lbs and is in size 2T sometimes 3T tops and 24mo bottoms. She wears a size 6 shoe, and may I mention she is obsessed with getting people their shoes…
Here are some of our little Shelby Sunshine’s likes and dislikes:
- Likes: books, bananas, cheese, candy, playing on the slide, jumping on the bed, play with balls, hugging, choo-choo-trains.
- Dislikes: dogs, any loud machine/car/tractor driving towards her when she isn’t in someone’s arms, oranges, strawberries.
Don’t get me wrong, I am sure there are a ton more things to add to both lists, but I just wanted to give you a glimpse at who she is
Cannot believe this little girl will be a big sister soon. Where has the time gone.
We love you Shelby!

Why is it when your kids hit a milestone like sleeping in a big-girl bed, they instantly look older? Shelby looks like such a kid in this post! :)
