Farm Adventures

For Morgan’s last preschool field trip of the year, we were all invited to go to the Illinois State University Farm. It was two classes, all the parents and the siblings. A bit nuts, but interesting.

The farm was neat, but it wasn’t a really “kid friendly environment”, as it involved A LOT of walking for these little ones, much of which could have been removed with helps of a hay wagon.

Anyway, it was hot, windy and dusty.

Shelby, Morgan and her BFF Juliette. (I love rain boots!)

Learned a lot about the sheep, especially that keeping an Emu on the property keeps dogs and wolves away. Also, mostly the sheep have twins. Crazy!

These cows were raised basically for slaughter. They are not milked, just fed all day long to gain on average 100lbs A WEEK! Wish I could do that, guess I shouldn’t say I’m as big as a cow anymore! Haha.

And this is most of Morgan’s preschool class. They were cute, seeing and mooing to all the cows and such. An interesting tour, not my favorite, but okay.
