Swimming Lessons

One of the best things about my gym is that they have free swimming lessons for the kids. It just so happens that out of 150 kids in lessons, I some how managed to get the girls in their lessons at the same time. Shelby’s is at 6:20-6:40 and Morgan 6:30-7:00pm. Juuust enough time for me to get Shelby dressed while Morgan finishes up, then Morgan ready so we can get home and relax!

Here are the kids practicing what they’ve learned in the kiddie pool.

For Shelby, a lot of her lesson revolves around floating, being able to jump in the water over and over, and switching from front to back float with the help of the instructor.

They each hold a noodle as a safety item/distraction piece while they patiently wait their turn. She only has two others in her class, which is pretty sweet as its almost like free private lessons. (well, free with my membership that is!)Shelby swimming lessons (2)

When Morgan has her lesson, they sit real close to Shelby. It is SO cute. They are always waving to each other, cracks me up.

Morgan’s lessons are getting more in depth now. Not just jumping/floating/kicking, but now they are learning to actually swim. And last night, they JUMPED OFF THE DIVING BOARD while holding a noodle. I didn’t have my camera, so I didn’t get a pictureSad smile But, I will bring it next week to hopefully catch her in action. It was crazy!morgan swimming (4)

And those are my little fish. I love swimming; always have. I swam in high school on the swim team and wished I could have continued on through college, but my Wind Symphony Scholarship didn’t allow it. Oh well! Hope my girls can be little swim stars someday!
