Life has been SO incredibly busy the past two weeks. Greg has been working so many insane hours we unfortunately rarely see him. We had a trip planned to go to Wisconsin for Morgan’s birthday, which Greg would leave during the middle of to attend a conference in Minnesota. All was going great until the night before we were supposed to leave. We found out that Greg was now not allowed to leave until Friday at 5pm. I wasn’t going to wait because I had a party to get in order.
Thursday morning the girls I and loaded up the car and drove all the way to WI by ourselves. All 7hrs, which is really 8hrs we a potty/food/gas break. It was not too horrible, but was tough.
Friday morning the girls and I got to go to TARGET (the one closest to us in MO is 55miles away), and visit one of my best friends (and her girls), Karen. So happy. So happy.
Friday night our great friends Jon and Michelle drove me to the airport to get Greg and then we went to Maggiano’s for dinner. Amazing.
Saturday was the big party day! The family birthday party for my soon to be 3 year old! She is getting so big…
Soon enough, her best bud and cousin Kendra arrived. They were SO excited. And, Pam and I 100% accidently dressed the girls alike. We always do this!
And Hadley was there too of course.
After the kids played outside for a while with Greg “watching” them…
we opened presents then had dinner. It was nice. Soon enough, it was time for cake!
Morgan loves Tinkerbell. The cake even came with Fairy Rings and a little case to carry them in! So cute.
Later on that night we all relaxed, which was probably a good thing as what lied ahead would be a night to remember.
9pm – I start throwing up.
10pm –Shelby starts throwing up.
2am – Morgan starts throwing up.
We all were toast on Sunday and Monday. Greg went to his conference and we missed him dearly.
Tuesday was the big day! Morgan’s 3rd Birthday! It was a mellow day. I took her to get her pictures taken up in West Bend by my friend Jenny Kuhn and Ella Bell Photography. Her hair look so cute (please note this was not the outfit in her pics).
Morgan is getting so big…what happened to my little baby!?
One last surprise for us this week was the cancellation of our Anniversary dinner this year. Yes, not only did we have different requests from Greg’s boss for the beginning of the trip, but at the end of the trip he was told he had to come home a day early. So, on Wednesday we gave our happy wishes to one another over the phone and reunited on Friday, after I drove home all alone with girls…again…. But here is to a Happy 5th Anniversary to the love of my life. Like the song says,
“…God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
And for when I think I lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true
God gave me you” – Blake Shelton
And here we are, five years later, with a beautiful family.
