Another year has come and gone.

Well, it finally happened. I am officially closer to 30 – but not too close. I turned 28 on this past Saturday. It was pretty fun, as fun as could be expected with no family, no babysitter and no friends to celebrate with. But it wasn’t horrible.

In the morning, we awoke with Shelby crying hysterically at 6:50am. She had a fever, snot everywhere; not pretty.  This was also not the sleep-in time I was seeking, but oh well. I got to get up and make breakfast.

It was all good. After the dishes, I opened my present from Greg and the girls. It’s a horrible picture, but focus on the gift and not me if you can. It is a blender/food processor combo. Super sweet, really excited!

After some play time, I made Dirt Cake, put the kiddos down and took a nice, long, hot shower. After the kids’ naps we went to the town of Arnold, which is 50 miles one way, to shop at Kohl's, Target and eat dinner. That is all I wanted for my birthday is to go to Kohl's. And it was nice.

When we got home, the kids were pooped. We sent them to bed and enjoyed some delicious birthday cake, which Greg made for me, all by ourselves. It was perfect.
