Brooke’s First Birthday took place last weekend. It was perfect timing because her birthday fell on the Saturday before Easter. So, my parents, as well as Bonnie/Rob/Kids were able to come down to celebrate with us. It was small, but sweet, and at least I’ll always remember it.
This little girl woke up happy, just like she does every morning
The day was more about family time than it was about Brooke, but at night was when she had her turn to shine. Greg and the kids, as well as Bonnie/Rob/Kids and my dad went to Peoria to visit the Catepillar Visitors Center. It was fun, and my mom and I stayed home with Brooke to get ready for the party.
They got home just in time for naptime, which was great as then hopefully they wouldn’t be cranky for the party later.
I made a delicious dinner, which most all the kids asked constantly throughout if they could “now have a cupcake”. We said NO. lol.
After dinner Brooke opened her presents.
Or should I say the “girls” opened her presents.
At one point they were all crying because they couldn’t open her presents, and Brooke of course just sat and ate the paper..
She did enjoy her shopping cart my parents got her. It was a great choice – however usually she has to fight for it from Shelby to get a turn! Hah.
Seeing how I knew that Brooke wasn’t going to eat the cake, I decided to just make cupcakes this year. It turned out nicely I thought.
And just like I expected she threw the cupcake across the room and could have cared less. So she got a graham cracker instead. What a silly kid!

Weight: 20.12 (75%)
Height: 29 inches (50%).
Still ordinary, but extraordinary in our eyes
