Temporary Hiatus

Not by choice, I have been on a temporary hiatus from blogging. Why?... Because Christmas Eve Eve (23rd) my laptop got the "blue screen of death" and broke. Because it is a 2009 it is going to take more to fix it than to buy a new one. So, for the next few weeks I live by my iPad. Which is a nice temporary relief to the dismay but still is slightly annoying.

What have we been up to lately?? Well after Christmas in Illinois we packed our bags and headed north to Wisconsin for a long weekend. From Thursday to Monday we were able to going to Flabbergast bouncy house, see all of our family there, ALL of them, and some friends we hadn't seen in a long long time. It was great..as you can tell:) The girls got to play in AWESOME wet snow.

After a fun NYE party, the weekend was hinting of a HORRIBLE cold snap coming through. The worst in forever. On Monday, January 6th Illinois had a high temp of -12 that day with 40-50mph winds. And guess who fixed broken rails outside in it all. Yup, you got it.

Luckily he thawed out eventually at 9pm that night when he got home and suffered no frostbite!

I forgot to mention that a few days before the big storm we were able to go to the Nauvoo Temple with two other couples, stayed at an awesome house and swapped kiddos. It was great, once we got there... That Friday morning before leaving this is what happened to the six adults:

-derailment
-almost dead car battery and illegal u-turn on hwy
-child's coat got taken at gym delaying departure
-husband forgot white shirt
-husband/wife both misplaced recommend.

Insane. If that's not a testimony of Satans powers what is!?!?

After all the dust settled life resumed as normal. Only without a laptop. Boo. At least I have my phone to document these crazies!...

Here here to 2014 starting out with a bang!!

It sounds like you had quite the adventures. Glad you were able to go to the Temple. We are thankful thatGreg didn't have serious complications from his hard work in the storm. Love to all Grandma Hood
