It seems like the past four months of sleep issues with Shelby seemed to fly by. However, I still remember walking her for hours upon hours in the basement, only to have her wake up once I put her down.
Or how about when I let her “cry it out” to early. Her and her swaddle issue, then the music issue, then the noise issue, then the pacifier issue. She was “tuff” in my mind, but nothing compared to what others face, I know.
I read and section of my book a few weeks back that said the naps would develop naturally as it is a part of the brain that needs to develop before they form on their own.
I waited…and waited….and waited…..and each day when she’d be up for an hour, then down for 45 minutes, then up for an hour….I WENT NUTS!
But this last week a new leaf turned over. She naps. Yes, it is true. She finally naps on her own. Predictable, delightful naps. At about 9am and 1pm she is smiling at me, until I raise the crib rail…then she realizes it is nap time. She only cries for about 3 minutes, but that’s all. It is nice.
And get this - she wakes silently…with a smile:) Sometimes I wonder how long she’s been in there! Lol.
Oh – and she’s pretty much sleeping through the night. Amen to this little girl.
