Like Christmas

This weekend felt like Christmas for me. After 10 days of Greg being gone he was finally home PLUS my parents came to visit!

The reason for their visit, besides that they love us and miss us, was to watch the girls so Greg and I could go to the Brewers vs. Cardinals game in St. Louis with all of our Missouri friends on Saturday night.

Well….lets just say I couldn’t handle the fact that Brooke REFUSES a bottle, so we took her with. It was fine, except we couldn’t sleep overnight down there then so we drove home after the game – all 2.15 hours of it. It was long but we were home by midnight.

Sunday became Sunday Funday.  It was nice to spend the entire day with my parents. We took them on quite the tour of our little town.

First, the Twin Groves Wind Farm Lookout. Illinois is known for their windmills, and this farm is the largest one East of the Mississippi.

It was fun.

After the windmills, we drove to Moraine Park State Park. It was a beautiful day, so we stopped at the little park in there. It was fun.

After lunch and naps, we went to the local County Fair – which was conveniently free after 3:00pm. It was perfect. A first for our girls, brought tears to my eyes still as I hear their giggles as they rode rides for the first time in their lives.

Grampa was sweet enough to let the girls play a ducky game where there was a winner every time. They are in love with their new friends.Shelby fairMorgan fairShelby, Daddy, County fair(2)

What a great weekend. And today, I got a TON of errands done this morning and this afternoon, my mom motivated me to fix the disarray that existed inside my cupboards from the quick unpacking I did at 35 weeks pregnant. Thanks mom and dad for a Wonderful weekendSmile We love you!
