You’d never believe that the week before Memorial Day it was STIFLING in Bloomington. I had to turn the air on – and, we even broke out the pool.
Day 1 of the heat wave – I only brought out the small toys. Brooke’s first time in the outdoor pool.
I thought this was so cute as they totally are too big for this little pool! But they love it!!

Next up on our summer-time fun was this little trick a friend of mine taught me. Put some dish-soap, water and a straw in a little cup or bowl and WHALLAH – hours (or minutes) of cheap, easy entertainment.
Day two of the heat wave turned sour by 2pm (after or naps) when it was pool time. Morgan complained the pool was “too cold” so I lugged 7 buckets of hot water from the kitchen out to the pool. After that, they were thrilled.
Hopefully this summer will bring some warm days for us to have more fun, but not too many that I have to run the air 24/7!
