Visit to WI

These visits to WI posts get redundant by now, I’m sure. However, while we live so close to “home” (only 3.25hrs and the kids can make it without stopping…usually) the excitement to go up north never fails. The kids for days ask me when we are leaving and finally on the day, the are excited to watch movies, eat snacks and nap in the car.

This trip was even more special than the last one because GREG was with us! I love when we have a week with him. Just seems like that’s how life is meant to be, ya know.

While I didn’t take many pictures, except for the day that we went to Green Bay (post to follow), I did get a few of our mini-vaca to Utah.

Greg’s cousin Jason got married and we decided to attend the reception. So, we left Morgan and Shelby behind and took the little monster with us on the plane. Did she live up to my expectations? Yes. She was terrible… TERRIBLE on the plane ride. Screaming, crying, never sat still. It was torture. I ended up swaddling her (she’s like 26lbs by the way and 15months almost) in the BATHROOM to get her to fall asleep. When we landed, this is how she looked. Go figure…

Utah Trip 1

After a slight cat nap, we arrived at Grandma and Grandpa Hood’s house, and while I would have loved a picture with her and them…Brooke had other plans. She screamed, refused to cozy up to the strangers until day 3. lol.

Brooke DID however enjoy an authentic Grandma Hood Cinnamon Roll! She loved it.

Utah Trip 3

On the plane ride to Utah all of a sudden out of nowhere I figured out who Shelby looks like! Greg’s Uncle James’ youngest daughter (8yrs) Lauren. She is a beauty and I feel like this could be Shelby in 5 years from now..

Shelby bday 18Utah Trip 2

This trip was a little different than our normal trips. First, we were only here for 3 days (including the flights). Second, we only had Brooke. And third, we stayed at the Dell. Technically called the Springdell, located just past Squaw Peak up Provo Canyon. The house has been there since forever, one of the originals on the Dell. And we loved every second of it! Greg’s Aunt and Uncle own the historic manor, and the cute dog Jet who Brooke eventually warmed up to:)

Utah trip 4

After three days of family, eating and lots of laughing, we were ready to board the flight once again back home. The only bonus was that on the way back, the flight is about 45 minutes shorter all around. AMEN!Utah trip 5

This happy girl, who looks drugged but wasn’t, unfortunately did not remain that way the entire flight. At least this time I knew how to get her to sleep!

That is all on our trip out West. Short, but fun. Stay tuned for the wrap-up of our WI visit coming soon!
