When I was growing up, it always seemed that my birthday lasted for almost a week. Seeing how my birthday is a week before Christmas, the celebration always seemed to continue on towards the Christmas holiday. It was great.
Now that I have kids, I try to make their birthdays last for more than one day. Shelby’s was no exception to the Birthday Rule!
Her birthday started on the Saturday before the actual day. We got together with our Illinois friends and had a fun little dinner. I said no presents, but our friends brought some cute dollar store items. It was great.
Just a few decorations. Greg ran to the store with the kids and when they returned I had the dining room all set. The table cloth was actually one you could color on!
Just a few friends having fun.
What a fun time we had. The birthday cake was Banana Bars – a family favorite and they were AMAZING.
On Sunday (Father’s Day which I didn’t have time and forgot to take a picture) we drove to Wisconsin to begin our vacation. The girls were happy to arrive. They LOVE staying at my parent’s house.
Monday was Shelby’s actually birthday. She got a poptart (her request) with a candle in it at 7:30am. It was so sweet. Then after breakfast, she spent her time playing with the light-up birthday hat. It was hilarious as she was actually blowing out the candles!
The new 3 year old waiting to go to lunch.
Happy Birthday Lunch at Chili’s. It was supreme!
No one wanted to take this picture, but oh well!
That evening we had a party at the park where the kids played, ate cake and then Shelby opened her presents. It was sweet, but a little chilly:/
This girl Shelby is incredibly sweet. She gives the best hugs, kisses, snuggles, you name it. Funny because as a baby she did none of that, so we suck up every little bit of it we can!
She loves to play outside, with her sisters, in the pool and run around. She is a good friend, and listens well usually, unless she doesn’t want to do something (what 3yr old isn’t like that).
Her preference is sleeping in Morgan’s room, which is great as she sleeps all night long and doesn’t get “scared”.
She loves sweets, though she does eat meat, veggies and fruit.
Her best eating time of the day is breakfast. She can pound down two bowls of cereal AND a banana, easily.
We love you Shelby. All 40” (97%) and 34.8lbs (30%) of you. Smooches baby girl!
