Brooke must be in the pre-Terrible Twos. And has been for about 6months I swear. She is a sweet, loves her daddy and sisters (and me when she is hungry or tired), but all the rest of the time, this is what she is doing….
Just say Brooke No before each picture…
This girl is ALL OVER everything she gets her hands on. She is a climber, a picker, a thrower, a SCREAMER, a crawl-behind-every-spot-she-canner, and a feisty little girl.
Here are some of the trouble things she does when we are not watching:
- Drinks ANYONES drink even while holding her own.
- Pulls the tablecloth off to reach what she wants.
- Climbs on the table/chairs.
- Climbs up the stairs whenever the gate is down and goes straight for the bathroom – pulling q-tips, clippies, toothpaste, hair gel, toothbrushes, etc out everywhere.
- Steals any toy she can grab.
- Climbs on EVERYTHING.
- Plays in toilet, then flushes it and says ALL DONE.
- Pulls all the wipes out of the container.
- Hides the TV remote.
- Does not respond to her name outside.
- If you call her name to stop running she just runs FASTER.
These are just a few things that drive me crazy daily. She is a sweet girl, but the screaming about 60% of the day for attention gives her a bad rap.
She has learned how to sign the important things like Eat, More, Drink and All Done. Works great except all she does now is SCREAMS and then signs Eat. I say no or in a minute and she Screams/Cries. It is a vicious cycle.
She is funny, and very very smart. She has been flushing toilets, throwing things in the garbage and wiping up spilled water on the floor with a towel all on her own for 2 months now. But at the same time she only says Uh-Oh and All-Done (sometimes). Slow to talk, but knows EVERYTHING. Kinda creepy and slightly annoying most days.
Her love for the outdoors is so fun, as well as her love for the pool/tub. She has even taught herself how to blow bubbles in the tub. So crazy!
Now that she’s 18months old, she is finally able to go to Nursery during Sunday School at church. It would be great if she didn’t dislike 90% of the people she first meets. Perhaps then she would LIKE going there and maybe WELCOME to attend!
And at the end of the day, this is her #1 goal in life….to be just.like.them
We love you to pieces sweet Brooke. You are Non-Stop and mostly a terrorist in our own house….but we love you to the moon and back.

Wow! what a cute little girl. Glad to see you are not missing out on some of life's excitement even though you don't have a little boy. We have experienced all of her exciting personality traits but one. We didn't have a screamer. A neighbors girl demonstrated that one quite often. Love you lots! We spent a week in Wyo..but are now back home. BIG HUGS Grandma Hood
Finger up the nose? I love it! All of your pictures are great! I especially love the last one. You're a great photographer, Sarah.
