Can I believe that TWO YEARS has passed since our third little princess came into this world? Yes, Yes I Can! Why? Well it's no secret that Brooke Mackenzie has been a firecracker since birth. From the fussiness, to becoming our first screamer, the food spitting to the ZERO talking. Let me tell you, she is the boy we never had! She climbs, crawls, and gets into mischief constantly. However, she is INCREDIBLY smart. Too smart for her own good sometimes! She cleans up messes on her own, she loves to have you cradle her and sing to her at night, and get this, she is potty training. That's right, potty.training. As of Saturday morning she tells me Every Single Time she has the SLIGHTEST pee in her undies. She has already pooped in the potty too. Let me tell you, for a girl who doesn't even call me mommy, she is amazing.
On Sunday the 30th this little one celebrated her big day with Church and a dinner party with some of our closet friends here in Bloomington. But before that celebration, we had the "first" birthday while visiting our family in WI a few weeks back....
| Morgan, Kendra, Shelby, Brooke and Hadley. All cousins...no boys on my side. |
| Brooke never smiles, but Hadley does! |
When we got home to Bloomington, it was a Thursday and Brooke's birthday was in 3 days! We had to come up with something fun to do, fast. So, we decided that on Saturday morning Greg and the two oldest would take the train down to Springfield where we would visit the Free Illinois State Museum. It was great and we even went out to Texas Roadhouse after where Brooke ate MORE than her fair share of rolls:)
The next day was Sunday and even though it was a church day, Brooke still happily wore her Happy Birthday To Me shirt all day long;)
She doesn't talk, but if you ask her she'll tell you TWO with her fingers:)
| She is ALWAYS camera shy.... |
| I've really taken a liking to making cupcakes nowadays;) |
| Present time! |
| Like I said HATES smiling. |
| She blew out the candles All by herself:) |
| Last year she chucked her cupcake on the ground. This year, she loved it. |
| Oh, and these were the cupcakes. Pain the butt to make, but fun to eat! |
And that's it. Our littlest one is two years old. Greg and I have noticed a significant change in her over the past month or so. She has a better attention span, getting easier to reason with, and her very limited food palette is changing. She now eats hot, grilled meats as long as she gets to dip them in ketchup:)
Also, she is catching up to the other girls with 72% for weight and 78% for height. Love our tall girls!
Happy Birthday little one, Happy Birthday my love:)
