Saturday was Shelby’s 1 Month Birthday. We can hardly believe it has been a month. It definitely seemed like it went fast, though now that I think about it I’ve only been home three weeks alone with the two kids. THAT’s IT! Wowee.
Things have 100% shifted at our house though. Morgan is getting better with being out of the lime-light and Shelby has settled into a bit of a routine. And, my postpartum hormones have regulated themselves out so life at the Patten House is back to normal…..well….our New Normal that is.
Here is a look at Shelby then and now.
A Few Days Old.
Weight: 9lbs 8oz Length: 21 inches
One Month….gosh Morgan changed too!
Weight: 11lbs 4oz (94th percentile)
Length: 23 inches (97th percentile)
It almost seems like it is hard to focus on both girls growing up now; I am sure that is normal and only gets worse with the more kids you have. Morgan has become a great helper and loves – 100% loves her sister. She has never done anything harmful or naughty to her. She’s just great.
And Miss Shelby is a sweetheart too. Here is a little about her:
- Loves mommy and is warming up to daddy
- Is an efficient eater now; she can pound one boob in 5 minutes!
- Likes to lay on the changing table with her diaper off
- Enjoys bathtime but hates drying off
- Eats at 9pm at night and does need me again until 3:00am!
- Fusses when she goes to bed – but only for about 5 minutes
- Enjoys her pacifier now; as long as it doesn’t pop out of her mouth
- Recognizes sounds now, though her eye-tracking is coming along
- Sleeps great in her crib
We really think she is beautiful, though some of these pictures do not do justice. Also, we’re bias due to fact that she is ours. Oh well; we love you Shelby!
