Milk Factory.

For those of you who don’t know – Greg worked on a farm for about 1/3 of his life – or roughly 8 years.  When I met him, his sweet aroma of cologne and aftershave only preceded him during our evening dates.  All other times he smelled of manure, dirt and whatever was plowed in the field that day.  Ah yes, I can never forget those days….

Anyway.  The Twin Pine Farm (now a subdivision in a nice location if anyone is interested) was also a dairy farm for the nice heifers.  I like using that word, heifers, as it makes me feel like it is okay to be chubby after giving birth and eating because you’re hungry and making milk.  If you haven’t gathered as much – I am nursing sweet little Shelby and plan on making it to the one year mark like I did with Morgan.

I have to chuckle at the fact that once I have my babies’, my life turns into an exciting day of producing milk for the little one. Here are some highlights:

  • Yes! She took one boob which means I get to pump the other!
  • Yes! I am up to 25 bags, 4ozs each of frozen milk.
  • Yes! She slept a little longer which means I am not so dang tired.
  • Yes! She woke up so now my boobs aren’t going to explode!
  • Yes! She pooped and it doesn’t smell as bad as Morgan’s. Thank you boob milk!

Wow – life sure changes when you have kids.
