The day we moved to Missouri it was the beginning of a four week stretch of record breaking heat indexes. Go figure, I was pissed. Not so much at the heat, but mad that I could barely play outside with the girls! AH!
Today marks the 1 Month Anniversary of us being Missourians. Can I believe a month has passed – absolutely! And yes it feels like a month since I’ve been yanked from all of my favorite shopping, eating and local activity spots. Nonetheless, we have learned to become a townie. All though we live in the “city” please note that this city has only 18,000 people living in it!
Let’s start with the basics, the weather. First it was hot, then it was humid, and now we can at least open the windows as the humidity comes and goes throughout the day. It storms here, sometimes quite aggressively. Check out this pic I got on Saturday.
Although our driveway is unfortunately on a slant, the girls have made due with playing in the street. Seems dangerous, but have no fear as we live on a cul-de-sac that has three other homes (one of which is ours) and the neighbors work all day long.
For those of you who are wondering, Morgan is playing on a Plasma Car. She loves it – great gift idea!
Shelby is definitely our more adventurous child. Doing things that I wouldn’t approve of far sooner than Morgan did. Like riding a bike, going down slides by herself…
And having the courage to dump her food all over herself…that girl!
In our spare time, which is quite frequent I must say, we also have been hitting up the community water park.
Oh, and Morgan and I have been working on her very own homemade alphabet book. We work a little bit each day which Shelby is taking her morning nap. She gives me just the right attention. I am super proud so far and we are only on letter E! Here is a sneak-peak at our C is for Car page.
And let’s not forget our new pet! No..just kidding..but there is this neighborhood cat which is declawed and will not leave us alone. Here Scruffy is at the front door…she paws and paws at it to have us let her in. Morgan thinks it is hilarious, me not so much.
And at the end of the day (well every other day) we play in our new tub

Miss you! The girls are getting so big!
I really feel for you, I know how long it took me to get used to Point and we only moved across the state. Wishing you the best as you continue to settle in.
Thanks so much for the deets on the plasma car, I've seen those before and wondered if they'd be good for the boys.
Also, I used to think Morgan looked so much like Greg, but now I think she looks like your little clone. :) The girls are so adorable!
