Our little baby girl turned 14 months yesterday. She is such a joy in our lives and is changing so fast with every moment of the day. I feel with baby #2 my guard has been let down a little and I allow her to try things sooner than I may have allowed Morgan. Seems to be working as she is our monkey-girl who wants to do it all!
Shelby is the most bubbly little spirit. When she is not walking around smiling, she has a determined, focused look on her face. She is definitely a Patten – stubbornness and all.. We love her for it though because she fits right in!
Here is what Shelby’s typical day is like:
- Wakes between 7am-730am
- Naps (if we are home) from 9-10am
- Naps again (at same time as Morgan) from 12:30pm or 1:00pm – 3:00pm/3:30pm
- Goes to bed between 7:00pm and 7:30pm
If you were to pick up Shelby, you’d know that she is solid as a rock…and there is a reason for it! This kid likes food. She really isn’t too picky. She actually ate homemade beef and broccoli stir-fry last night! Impressive. Like all kids she has her favorites, so here are some of her ultimate favorites:
- Cheerios
- Bananas
- Milk
- Anything chocolate
- Yogurt
- Watermelon
- Cantaloupe
- Cheese
- Water
She definitely is not a fan of juice, refuses to drink it, and also hates grapes. We are going on day 4 of trying to get her to eat them; no such luck.
All in all, our little “bruiser” as we like to call her, is a fun little gal. She LOVES the park and will climb up and go down on her own any slide she can get her hands on. She loves to chase Morgan around, wrestle with her and play “hide from mom” in our closet. Not a fan of this game, let me tell you.
Recently, she has learned that when I call her name, she can walk backwards so I have to chase her. If I do happen to catch up to her, she collapses to the ground, lays flat on her back, arms go limp and she giggles. Again, not a fan, but it is cute
