Children’s Discovery Museum

This weekend was a pretty fun one for our little family. The girls and I drove up to Bloomington, IL early Thursday to meet with our realtor and inspector at the new house. Everything checked out good, except for a few very minor items, so that was great.

Friday we got to go to the house again, while Greg worked, and meet with the interior designer from the paint company. Hope we picked some nice colors!

Saturday was one of the first normal family fun days we’ve had in a while. And what better thing to do than take the kiddos to the Children’s Discovery Museum in Normal (the town attached to where we are moving – aka Bloomington/Normal or BloNo as the locals have it).

It was so much fun. Three floors of entertainment for the kids and the parents. Here were some of our favorites stations to visit.

The playhouse.Kids museum 2Kids museum 3 shelby 19 mo

The waterworks factory (so neat).Kids museum 4

The train station (Greg was in heaven).Kids museum 6Kids museum 7 shelby 19 mo

The farm factory. You could see how little green balls (crop) was used to feed cows, go in combines, up the shoot to process, and shoot into the soybean plant. It was super neat. Oh, and the REAL tractor.Kids museum 8Kids museum 9

And this thing. Not sure what it is, scary and too intense for me. A suspended monkey-type house that Morgan tried out. Very interesting.Kids museum 11Kids museum 10Kids museum 12

And the ultimate station, located on the third floor, the Paint-a-Wall area. Amazing.Kids museum 17Kids museum 15Kids museum 16Kids museum 14

What a fun day at the museum. If any of our friends (with kids) and/or family come to visit us, bring your $6 per person for ages 2+. We will be visiting this place with our houseguests!
