Our new home.

I feel entirely guilty.  Why?  Because I realized that I posted complaints on the Bloomington, IL communications company without sharing the obvious news that we FOUND A HOME!

I have been waiting to post because I just didn’t have a picture of it saved. And realistically, I had only been in it twice until this past weekend, so I am sorry.

But here it is! And I’ll give you the rundown on the property:

  • Built in 2006
  • 2nd floor has 4 bedrooms, two full bath (one ours), walk-in closets with built in storage shelves and the best part…a laundry room!
  • 1st floor has a living room, dining room, family (tv) room, spacious kitchen with granite counters and tile floor (that sparkles I might add).
  • Basement is FINISHED. Praise the Lord I am so happy it is finished and carpeted!

A bachelor lived in this house and was the only owner so it is barely “lived-in”.  And here is our story of the accepted offer.

Two weeks ago today we put in our offer. The man (lives in CA) countered back and barely budged. We countered and did the same. He countered and gave us one last offer which we hated. Greg and I were so sad. Would this home really slip through our fingers? We talked/argued/got teary-eyed (me) for about an hour and settled it.  This just wasn’t our house.  I called our realtor, began to tell her that before we say another word we needed a quote on interior painting because the whole house is white and needs color. As I was mid-sentence, our realtor interrupted me and said, “Sarah, he accepted your offer.”

We said a prayer and went to bed. What a true blessing from our Heavenly Father.  I don’t know what ancestor was in the hotel room with us that night, but I am so grateful someone was!

On March 2nd, this puppy will be ours. And on March 5th, the movers will pack up our Farmington, MO home.  Cannot believe this is happening again!
