2 Weeks

I cannot believe that two weeks have come and gone.  Brooke is such a doll and we are so blessed to have such a happy baby so far. I hope this continues as our luck with Shelby ran short in the beginning and I found myself walking her more to sleep than sleeping myself.

Usually during the day she sleeps a lot, although at night now she is generally awake from about 6:30pm – 7:30/8:00pm.  She likes to look around, though I know she cannot see much yet.  There is a lot to take in most times at our house – usually in the form of laughing, crying or whining.

At night time, we usually try to give little Brooke some daddy time. It is cute as she latches onto him like a little koala bear.

Like I mentioned, she is a pretty chill baby. She really only fusses when she is hungry or tired. Most of which can be soothed by a pacifier. I am sooo happy for that one as Shelby STILL sucks her fingers for comfort. AH!

Brooke finally has some clothes that fit as I went out and got a couple of Newborn size clothing. Never had to do that before, nor have we ever gone through more than one box of newborn diapers. Funny how life is different sometimes.

I really enjoy this little girl, oh so much. Perhaps it is because I am soaking up every bit of my final baby-phase. Or perhaps it is because the quiet moments with her a few and far between, so when they happen I just sink into the moment and fall more in love with her each minute.

She’s cute, she really is.  All 7lbs 11ozs and 20.75inches of her (as of 4.12.12).

The rest of the family is doing well. Morgan tells me constantly how CUTE Brooke is and is very very helpful in getting me things I need. Shelby on the other hand is Miss. Mischief.  She loves to cause trouble, especially when I am nursing. She is goofy, but sometimes can be a bit naughty as well.  She is also extremely attached to me right now and wants me by her constantly. Hopefully she will mellow out in the next few weeks.Shelby Grampa's Shoes (21mo)

All in all, the Patten Pad is hopin’ once again. Bring on the next week as I will be on my own Monday – Friday!

Hi to all. We loved your update and delightful photos. Little Brooke is so sweet and we are glad Morgan and Shelby are good helpers. We know that Mommy and Daddy are good too. We love your family. We arrived home from the Ranch House this evening. We were able to accomplish the work at the house that we planned to do plus a few extra things. All is well here. Thank again. Love Grandma-- great Grandma Hood
