3 weeks

Three weeks have come and gone since Brooke’s birth already. I cannot believe it as it feels like she’s been here forever.  I am really beginning to cherish the moments I have with her while nursing. Probably because it forces me to sit down and relax every once and a while.  Nonetheless, it has become some of the sweetest moments with her, which I adore.

She is getting bigger, though her little legs are still a we bit skinny.

And she definitely looks like one of our little Patten babies.

Daddy has been working on Tummy Time with her while I make dinner. He basically protects her from the other two kids.Brooke 3weeks TummyTime

And I somehow manage to give three kids a bath on some days. She is so cute in this little tub and never cries, except when I have to take her out.Brooke Bathtub (3weeks)

As for the other two kids, they are adjusting nicely.  Both have colds right now, which makes me want to put Brooke in a ventilation mask to protect her.  But all in all they do great with her and really love her. Plus, they love the freedom I give them to run-a-muck while I am nursing. These two are trouble!Morgan and Shelby Bikes (22mo, 3.5yr)

This week I found out some interesting and heartfelt news about my family, which has really strengthened my testimony of Our Savior in the past week. To begin, when Brooke was born I could not figure out why I carried my first two babies full term, never even going into labor, and my last one was a little under three weeks early. In the past two weeks, I have come to find out two very important details that have provided much clarity to this question, and proven to me that the Lord does answer all prayers.

1.  Two days after arriving home from the hospital we found out that unexpected our insurance had changed as of March 31st. Thankfully, all of our doctors were covered by the new insurance. However, because we had her prior to that date, my entire pregnancy would now be billed to UHC, as it was originally. Thus, making life so much easier.

2.  Today, I found out that my dad, who left her a week ago after helping out around here with my mom while visiting, had broken his femur where his hip replacement attaches to it. He is having hip surgery tomorrow morning. Thus, if I would have had Brooke on Thursday as scheduled, the original plan for help would have been thrown out the window and who knows what would have happened.

Sounds odd, but I know she had to arrive early for the Lord knew what was on the horizon and blessed us so we could have the help and support we needed at that time. I am so grateful for my Savior and am truly blessed.
