We’re off to visit Bloomington…

the wonderful world of State Farm.

I have never lived in a big city. My elementary school had less than 60 graduates and my high school was roughly 500. The first day the girls and I got to Bloomington, IL, I could not believe my eyes.

100,000 people are estimated to live in the Bloomington-Normal area. Very large. They even have drive-thru Panera’s there!  Woohoo!  I could not believe it.

Greg had been staying in a suite to accommodate his sweet, little family. So when we got there, it wasn’t long until it felt like our little mini-home, away from home (if that even exists anymore).

I have to say, for me in the beginning, having two was incredibly challenging. Shelby was a controversial sleeper from birth and didn’t become a normal nap-girl until probably 6 months of age. Now that the girls are older and only 21 months apart, it is awesome. They play so well together, though often someone is getting abused by the other. However, that doesn’t put a cramp in their friendship; nope, they are lovers for lifeSmile

So here is where we live. Morgan gets her own QUEEN size bed, Shelby gets the pack n play, and Greg and I fight over who has more pillows at night in the other Queen bed.  It is fun sleeping all in one room (yeah right). Finally by the day we had to go home, sleeping was back to normal – go figure.

The air conditioner is one of the worst things in our sleeping part of the suite. It is basically away from the wall a bit and there is light/cool draft that comes through. So we had to makeshift some support until the maintenance guy came (not sure if that has happened yet).

And this is our kitchen. Could be worse, right?

I was really nervous about the mornings I had to shower without Greg being there. But the girls sat so sweetly, as long as I left the bathroom door open, with their milk and blankets. It was too cute.

And here is the happy couple, not so happy after the Packers loss.  But, quite happy that we got to watch the game together. Cannot wait for our next overnight trip to visit Greg/Daddy.
