After the past week, I can see now that probably every year, I will will take the girls to Wisconsin for probably a 1-2 week stay to be with our family. For the girls, it will be just like it was for me, when we used to go Up North to Manistique, MI each summer as a child.
On Saturday the 30, the girls and I loaded up the car, said our goodbye to daddy and headed North to Wisconsin. We had a lot planned:
- My dad’s 57th birthday
- My niece’s 4th birthday
- A little shopping
- Some Splash Pad fun
- Fourth of July
- Dinner with friends
The first few days were horrible. Brooke had no clue where she was and would not go to sleep for me at all. By day 3, however, she was back to normal, thank goodness.
Here is how we had fun in Wisconsin.
Jackson Splash Pad
Redneck Water Slide Fun
Babysitting – the girls are learning…
Fourth of July (Greg got in at midnight the day before)
It was about 100 degrees by noon – way to hot to go to a parade. So instead we visited Greg’s family and enjoyed good food.
Fun at Grandpa Pattens
My nephew, Matt, 3 weeks older than Morgan.
And our inheritance….some people get jewelry, some people get money….I (Greg) get a tractor.
We had a pretty good time. Looking forward to the day that Greg and I can go out on a date again. We had our first night out in 3 months – I think I need to find a sitter in this town!

Sarah, I want you to know that you are my inspiration. I'm so behind on my blog and I never do fun things anymore. You are a pro at both and your family is as cute as ever!
Nothing is more fun than playing in the cat litter box they call a sandbox at grandpa patten's house!
Except maybe playing with the tractor.
Also, dating is over-rated. It only leads to more kids, trust me I speak from experience.
I LOVE the family picture from the 4th!
