A Sleep Savior

When Morgan was about 3 months old, and not anywhere close to sleeping through the night, I knew there must be something I wasn’t doing right.  Lucky for me, a sleep book that was given to me after she was born, was sitting on my bookshelf collecting dust.  Since I had a lot of free time on my hands, I read the entire book in one day!  And boy…did it change my life.

I learned sooooo much from this book and soon enough, Morgan was sleeping better; so much better.  Oh, this is the book.  I seriously swear by this book.

Healthy sleep habits, happy child [Book]

Every now and then, I think I am on top of the sleeping game until SMACK!  I run right into a wall and Morgan has a new sleep pattern/issue/transition…whatever you shall call it.  Like when she went from two naps to one – the book was there.  And from the crib to the bed – the book was there.

Well, at 5:30am this morning when Morgan woke me up…..

THE BOOK WAS THERE!

I followed its instructions, step by step.  Morgan went down at noon for her nap and awoke about 1.5hrs later crying and came to seek me out.  I met her half way and walked her to her bed, didn’t speak or make eye contact (as instructed). Amazingly, she went back to sleep.

Thank you Marc Weissbluth, M.D. for being a genius and writing an easy-to-follow book. I know your practice is in Chicago, but my $10 book will do for now.
