For Morgan’s birthday, I was having the hardest time trying to figure out what to do.
- I didn’t want to go to overboard because I knew she wouldn’t remember it anyway.
- Her family party is this Saturday, so we weren’t going to have anyone over.
- Greg wasn’t going to take a day of vacation – let’s get real.
- We couldn’t go to the park because it is to chaotic chasing her while making sure no one steals Shelby.
So…after a day of careful planning I made the happiness low-key, but special to her.
First, when we woke up she got her favorite breakfast of Peanut Butter Toast and a sliced banana. After getting dressed in her new pair of shoes, we were off.
Our first stop after we dropped off Shelby at a friend’s house for a few hours was the doctor’s office. Am I mean mom for taking her to the doc on her birthday?…maybe. But what else was there to do, lol.
I am happy to say she is healthy as a horse, literally:
- Weight: 28lbs 4ounces (71%)
- Height: 36 inches (95%)
She didn’t even cry when she got her Hep A shot either. What a girl.
Next stop was the local bakery where we got her birthday cake, some cookies to bake and her ultimate favorite thing ever - - A BALLOON!
When we got home, Shelby stayed asleep in her carseat – the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Time to bake!
Morgan was the Iron Chef of the day.
Except at times she forgot the cookie sheet.
Nothing like raw cookie dough…mmmm…
When Morgan was done with her nap, Greg had just arrived home. Perfect timing again. We all gathered downstairs for her to open some cards she got in the mail and gifts.
Our big gift was the last thing to open.
However, she really loved her baby stroller from our sitter, Nikki, more – go figure.
Morgan’s day of favorites continued….a wagon ride.
Mickey Mouse pancakes for dinner.
Painting.
And FINALLY, the day ended with the cutest birthday cake ever.
By the end of the day, we were all exhausted…including Shelby.
And just think, there is ANOTHER party for her on Saturday! AH!
Happy Birthday Morgan. We love you!
