About six months ago, I knew of a couple with two kids who talked about how they hated putting their kids to bed at night. They hated it so much, in fact, if either the husband/wife were out running errands at bedtime they’d purposely stay out late enough to miss the bedtime ritual.
At that time, Greg and I looked at each other and were like, “Why don’t they like bedtimes? We love it! Books, kisses, music box – its great.”
Fast forward to…ummm…NOW…..
I have eaten every letter of that sentence twofold.
I 100% dislike bedtimes. Why? Because, either Shelby is asleep and Morgan is constantly saying, “Momma, Daddy, Mommy, Daddy,” louder and louder each time until we come through the door. Or Shelby is crying loudly that Morgan cannot fall asleep. Either way, one wakes/keeps the other awake due to the fact that their rooms share a wall.
Now, life would be easy if Morgan went to bed before Shelby. But, unfortunately that will never be the case and basically, the only peace I look forward to is in 2 years when they are sharing a room!
Depressing. But I can still laugh at it I guess.
